Copper 145 Tellurium Copper Round Bar

Copper 145 (UNS C14500) is a tellurium-bearing copper alloy designed to retain high conductivity while machining more readily than common high-conductivity grades. It is particularly useful for turned electrical contacts, terminals, switch components, and precisely machined conductive parts. It is not the same material as ordinary oxygen-free copper.

Applications and Grade Selection

The tellurium addition improves chip formation. C110 copper is often preferred when the application primarily prioritizes high electrical conductivity. The two alloys are not automatic substitutes: drawing requirements, conductivity, machining method, and temper need review.

Precision Ground Bar Stock and Purchasing

Mozaic can review copper round-bar sourcing, precision centerless grinding and straightening, cutting, and packaging. Include your required UNS grade, conductivity if specified, temper, OD and finish tolerance, lengths, quantity, and mill documentation. See our copper round-bar overview for other copper grades. See Mozaic’s centerless grinding services.

Common Questions

Is Copper 145 pure copper?

No. C14500 is a specified tellurium copper alloy. Purchasing requirements must identify the alloy rather than describe it simply as 99.99% pure copper.

Can Copper 145 substitute for C110?

Not automatically; confirm the electrical and mechanical performance alongside machinability, form and temper.
