Polishing Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel Bar Polishing & Finishing

Mozaic Precision Metals provides polishing services for stainless steel round bars, shafts, and cylindrical components. Polishing can improve surface finish, reduce light surface marks, and remove small amounts of material to achieve final dimensions where suitable.

We process customer-supplied material and offer polishing alongside bar supply, centerless grinding, straightening, and chamfering. Our team reviews the material condition, starting diameter, finished diameter, and surface finish requirements to determine the appropriate process.

Polishing is available as a standalone service or as a finishing operation after grinding. Achievable results depend on the material, incoming surface condition, and allowable stock removal.

We review polishing jobs for both surface finish and dimensional requirements. When small diameter adjustments are needed, polishing may be suitable for bringing material to its specified finished size.

Include your finished diameter and tolerance, required surface roughness, and any end-to-end sizing requirements. If the finish is specified in Ra or RMS, provide the value and units exactly as shown on your drawing or purchase order.

Deep scratches or other significant surface defects may require more stock removal than polishing allows. We assess the incoming condition and available diameter allowance before confirming the job.

Coordinated Bar Processing

Combine polishing with centerless grinding, straightening, and chamfering to prepare material for machining or shipment. We review the processing sequence against your diameter, surface finish, and handling requirements.
