321 Stainless Steel Round Bar — 321 stainless steel (UNS S32100) is a titanium-stabilized chromium-nickel austenitic alloy used where sensitization after certain thermal exposures needs to be controlled. It differs from both conventional 304 and niobium-stabilized 347. Material form, service environment and product condition must be specified.

Material Selection and Limitations
Titanium stabilization mitigates sensitization in specified exposures but does not make 321 universally resistant to chloride stress corrosion.
Before purchasing, confirm whether the job calls for corrosion resistance, hardness, strength, machinability, elevated-temperature performance, or dimensional stability. Matching only a similar material name does not establish engineering interchangeability. A design engineer should approve any substitutions against the drawing and the customer-required specification.
